What is it?
Limiting contact with others to slow and stop the spread of disease.
Stay 6 feet away from others in public, frequently washing hands with soap & water for at least 20 seconds, cover coughs and sneezes, regularly clean high touch surfaces, no shaking hands.
Why should we do it?
To survive the virus needs to keep infecting people. If we work on social distancing we make it harder for the virus to infect new people. This will slow the growth of cases which helps our health care system be able to better treat those with severe infections. The idea is to flatten the curve. If the virus cannot infect someone new it eventually will die out. There is the potential for new outbreaks in the future but this also gives us time to continue work on a vaccine to help prevent any future outbreaks.
